Abstract

This research examines the legal status of female combatants under International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Law, focusing on their special protection, contemporary challenges, and the role of international courts in prosecuting violations. The study highlights the importance of international legal instruments, including the Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocols, and presents contemporary cases from the ICC to ensure effective protection of female combatants. The research also provides recommendations for enhancing both legal and practical safeguards.
